ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR KAZAKHSTAN

Abstract

The state policy of green economy development is an integral component of Kazakhstan's sustainable development strategy. The article describes the environmental component as a component of sustainable development of the modern state. The content of the concept of "environmental responsibility" is defined. The study emphasises the importance of strengthening environmental responsibility to ensure competitive advantage in the international arena. It is argued that environmental responsibility should be aimed at integration into corporate culture, support for environmental initiatives, and transparency of information on the impact of the company's activities on society, the economy and the environment. The key aspects of environmental responsibility in the context of sustainable development strategy of the state are also highlighted.
