Abstract
Abstract. The article deals with the issue of improving the principles of meritocracy in the state authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At present, in an era of increasing inequality at the global level, it is very important to create a level playing field by improving public administration. The reform of the civil service will be aimed at its professionalization through improving the system of training of civil servants, increasing the attractiveness of the civil service and improving the management of human resources in the civil service. The basis for the formation of a professional civil service will be a new system of positions of civil servants, effective procedures for the selection of personnel for the civil service and a high-quality training program for civil servants focused on the best international practices of public administration.
