Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of the implementation of the repatriation policy in the Republic of Poland. In recent decades, the Polish government has been actively pursuing a policy of ethnic migration, which promotes the return of people of Polish nationality from abroad to their historical homeland. In international relations, Poland's experience in repatriation policy is evaluated positively. Many results have been achieved in the organization of ethnic migration through the adoption of a public administration system, a legislative framework, and comprehensive social support programs. However, at the stages of adaptation of repatriates to a new environment, documentation, and establishing relations with the local population, a number of difficulties arise.

Due to this, in this study, the authors analyzed the repatriation policy of Poland and, among other things, studied social support measures, documentation and adaptation issues. A review of historical data was conducted and official statistics were analyzed. Normative legal acts and state programs adopted in different years were also analyzed, the social and economic consequences of repatriation, legal and political aspects were discussed. In the article, we also partially touched upon the issues of diaspora policy.

In general, all stages of state support for immigrants to their historical homeland are described. The shortcomings and experience of organizing ethnic migration in the studied country are revealed.
