GENESIS AND FEATURES OF CULTURAL IDENTITY: BASED ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE FINDINGS OF DOMESTIC SCIENTISTS

Abstract

In this article, on a theoretical basis, an analysis of the genesis and features of cultural identity is carried out, taking into account the conclusions of domestic scientists. Various theoretical approaches to the definition of cultural identity, the main stages of its formation, and the influence of political, historical, and sociocultural processes on the formation and change of cultural identity are considered. Using the example of research by domestic scientists, the features of ideas about cultural identity in the context of modern society are analyzed. Four key influences of diversity and integration on cultural identity are identified and discussed, emphasizing the role of ethnocultural education in shaping cultural identity. The article also delves into the distinctions between artistic consciousness and cultural identity, proposing characteristic features for each. A particular focus is placed on the ability of diasporas to maintain cultural identity. Additionally, the study addresses various facets influencing cultural identity, such as religious identity, Islamic studies, national cuisine, ethnic stereotypes, and the scientific system. Utilizing data from 13 scientific papers indexed by the by the keyword “cultural identity” in the Scopus database, the article identifies key factors that influence cultural identity formation and understanding of cultural heritage. The article concludes with the author’s definition of the concept of cultural identity. The work represents an important contribution to the study of political science and cultural and sociological aspects of cultural identity and can be used for further research in this area.
