Abstract

The public administration system of a certain country has to do with the people of the country themselves, that is; how they relate with one another and their origin as society in the particular country. Nigeria as a multi tribal society united by the British colonialism showcased an exceptional system of public administration in view of its large association of different tribes as its inhabitants. This paper studies what impact these tribes have in the public administration of Nigeria, looking at the colonial history to contemporary Nigerian public administration. The paper was developed as  conceptual in methodology, and data sets were gathered through secondary methods as previous articles, journals, newspaper, books related to the object and subject of the study as well as  the Nigerian Constitution. Although data sets analyzed in the study prove that tribal conflicts arise in Nigerian system of public administration, the study shows that the public administration system relies on the support and development of tribal unity and ethnic co-habitation.
